Call for Tutorial Proposals

INTRODUCTION

High-quality tutorials are an asset to every conference and will, therefore, also be part of the attractive program of CCNC'2006. They complement the bleeding-edge research reports of the technical sessions by providing participants with broad and comprehensive overviews of emerging fields, targeted at researchers and practitioners from the field. There are six half-day tutorials planned, there are no full-day tutorials.

AREAS OF INTEREST

The areas of interest for tutorials are the same as for the CCNC'2006 conference (see Call for Papers page for a detailed list):

  • networking
  • enabling technologies
  • applications and case studies
  • end systems

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Proposals should be submitted electronically to the tutorial chair:

Andreas Willig ( awillig@tkn.tu-berlin.de, or awillig@ieee.org)

before the submission deadline of September 1, 2005 . The preferred format is PDF, but proposals in the form of plain text, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Powerpoint, or Postscript will also be accepted. When preparing your proposal, please use the tutorial form linked from this page in Microsoft Word or PDF format (the PDF form is provided as a guideline for instructors who prefer other word-processing software).

REVIEW PROCESS

Tutorial proposals will be evaluated on the basis of their estimated benefit for prospective participants and on their fit within the tutorials program as a whole. Factors to be considered include: relevance, timeliness, importance, and audience appeal; suitability for presentation in a half-day format; and past experience and qualifications of the instructors. Selection is also based on the overall distribution of topics, expected attendance, and specialties of the intended audiences. Thus, not all tutorials of technical merit can be accommodated within the tutorials program.

October 15, 2005 - Acceptance Notification
